When The Phone Doesn’t Ring

Category: Go home.

We always have two choices during this one, brief, beautiful life.

To sit back and wait for the phone to ring
or
to get busy living without any need for a phone.

Sometimes getting busy living means sitting still in prayer, solitude, and serenity.

Sometimes it means kicking procrastination, fear, and excuses to the curb (once and for all) and moving forward – little by little – to actualize our dreams and be and do everything God has planned for us.

Unplug the phone.

Then it doesn’t matter if it rings or not — you were too busy living, too busy doing, too busy praying, too busy creating — to care.

When the phone doesn’t ring
it doesn’t mean a thing
in the grand scheme of things.

Now go – and call your grandmother, your aunt, or a long-lost friend and tell him/her you were just calling because you wanted to say, “hello” and you wanted to be sure that the person on the other end of the phone knew how much you cared about, loved, respected, and/or admired him/her.

Don’t wait for the phone to ring —
make someone else’s phone ring.

After all, in this one, brief, beautiful life — it’s not about you — it’s about how you can make someone else’s moment, day, or life better having been a part of it.
