With so many people choosing to spend so much more time in their home and many still working from home, a state-of-the-art, user-friendly home theatre has never been more popular or more enjoyed in the history of home theatres than it is now.  While the list of possible features and equipment that a homeowner can choose from may seem overwhelming, there are four must-haves on that audiovisual checklist that are necessary to create the ideal, luxury home theatre.

#1 Lighting Controls and LED Starry Lighting

One of the most important (and challenging) components of a home theatre design is lighting control. A home theatre with high-end equipment and luxurious furniture will quickly lose all its intended awesomeness if the lighting in the room is not controlled.  The number of doors and windows in the theatre should be limited; blackout blinds make a good investment for theatres that have a lot of windows. Once the natural lighting is able to be eliminated completely, controlling the lighting wanted in the room is critical. State-of-the-art fibre optic and LED lighting technology transform an ordinary room with leather seating and a huge screen into a go-to escape space to enjoy movies and music under the stars without leaving the house!  Starry lighting creates the twinkling starry night sky effect that can include full, individual color-changing and twinkling effects in the ceiling.

#2 4K Projector and Screen

4k projectors significantly enhance the viewing quality within 10ft of viewing. Top-of-the-line 4K projectors include display chips that offer industry-leading contrast and black level well worth the price. After all, for true home theatre enthusiasts who are desiring to create a great, enjoyable space for all their home theatre entertainment needs, it just makes sense to choose the equipment that offers the best from the get-go.  For a truly sharp image, 4K projectors  also provide true native 4K resolution and high quality lenses. One of the best flat screens for a 4K project is a fixed frame screen because they are designed with a tensioned screen fabric to  create the best possible picture. For smaller home theatres, a large television is recommended.

#3 Speakers

Dolby speakers create a lifelike sound through their Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers that uniquely direct sound upward – reflecting it off the ceiling.  For the most realistic experience, four speakers are recommended. Dolby offers two kinds of Atmos-enabled speakers – the integrated units that include forwarding-firing speakers and the add-on, upward-firing speakers that sit on top of a nearby surface or other speakers. The distance between the speakers should match the distance that guests are seated from television the screen. For example, if the theatre’s lounge chairs are situated 6 feet from the television, then each stereo speaker should be 3 feet away from the television, with the center speaker aligned with the center of the screen.

#4 Streaming Players

Whether it’s the AppleTV, the Roku 4K, or the Kaleidescape, all these premium, high-end streamers offer rich operating systems, fast processors, totally tricked-out remotes, and lots of extras to skyrocket home theatres to the top level. Kaleidescape, the server system that stores and plays back video and audio content to movie players,  is the downloaded service used by American film director Martin Scorsese. It enables users  to curate libraries of movies, cross-reference titles, and create a customized treasury of cinematic history at the user’s whim.

For help choosing, installing, operating, or troubleshooting any/all of the audiovisual technology in a home theatre, it’s always best to be proactive and call an established audiovisual tech company before products are purchased, systems are installed, or avoidable bugs start buzzing and rearing their ugly heads!
